Fairy Chimneys and the many-valleyed terrain of Cappadocia. Time to put on my hiking boots and get going.

Cappadocia zemi valley kaylie pink

We hiked Zemi Valley in October and my older daughter Emily saw this opportunity. I just copied her and snapped this photo of my younger daughter, Kaylie. She is a precious gift, and I love her dearly, but I can assure you she is not as angelic as she appears in this photo!

Walking back towards Göreme on the Görkündere trail on an overcast fall day we could see the whole region. As I passed a vineyard by the side of the trail, I snapped this photo.

Zemi Valley Cappadocia Turkey

Photo taken by Joshua Moss. Josh, son of Aaron, is a true musical prodigy who lives in Cappadocia. You can listen to his inspiring music here &/or search “The Venus Rotation” on iTunes. As you listen recognize that Josh did not start music until 2011 and has never had a formal lesson. He plays piano, guitar, drums, and cello. Be sure to listen to Autumn’s Rose, which was written as a birthday present to our daughter, Kaylie.

Zemi Valley is inexplicably one of the lesser explored valleys in Cappadocia. It begins off the Ürgüp – Nevşehir road and end 5.6 kilometers later by the Tourist Hotel in Göreme on the road to the Open Air Museum. This picture captures a bit of the beauty of this valley.
