Cappadocia zemi valley spire
This is my favorite valley hike in Cappadocia and that is saying something.

It could be that we first hiked it in the fall when the leaves were changing and the abundant fruit was ripe.
It could be the trail which was mostly flat but long enough to cause a sweat.
Maybe it was the beauty and diversity of the landscape which justifies the captivating part of our website name.

Regardless, this valley is a wonderful gift from God who designed this landscape so it would erode into these breathtaking valleys. We did both trails and are going to take you on a photo tour that will hopefully entice you to make the hike when you visit. (I have included the map from Part 1 at the end of this post.) Why is this valley NOT at the top of the list for hiking in Cappadocia?

It is not even on most lists?!?!

I cannot figure it out, but that does not matter. It means that you will have a more peaceful, solitary hike when you go!

Rose valley rainbow

Here is my theory: One day long ago a beautiful rainbow filled the sky over Cappadocia. A gale force wind blew the rainbow into the hills so hard that it stuck to the ground. Since that day the ground in Cappadocia’s Rose Valley has been painted.
