Cappadocia Photo of the Week October 23: Lightning Strikes Uçhısar Castle!

This was a captivating storm over Uchisar Castle, Cappadocia. One of the few summer storms kind enough to entertain us.

I have been trying since we moved here to capture one of the lightning storms on digital film. This was taken from our 3rd floor balcony and that is Uçhısar Castle at the end of the lightning strike. In reality the strike was not near the rock tower but from this view it sure looks like it.

After this one I was wondering if Thor was taking his Cappadocia vacation?

And this is what it looked like when the sky was quiet. That is a car streaking across the lower right of the picture.

No mention of who took these awe inspiring shots.

Thanks Amy, it was me. Just a tripod and a remote control. God did the hard work!
