We have written about other excellent Cappadocia restaurants here and here.

If you are looking for a restaurant in Cappadocia, we have now given you 30 from which to choose.
We have tried to include every price level and every town.
In this latest list I have chosen places that stand out from the crowd. They either have one item that sets them apart, or their atmosphere is unique, or they are a perfect example of Anatolian hospitality.
Read through the list, pick a place, and then return and do your good deed for the day by letting us know how it was.
[Note: Below I give the expected prices for each place. Be aware that these prices do NOT include alcohol. Therefore, if you plan to drink a couple of beers or a glass of wine you can add 10-20 TL per person to the price.]
NEVŞEHIR
* Hacibaba
Right across the street from the Emniyet (police station & governor’s office) sits this unassuming Turkish cuisine restaurant with maybe the best Beyti in Turkey. They serve all the common Turkish dishes from Tavuk Şiş to Iskender to Adana Kebab and Pide, but I go for the Beyti, a special meal in which the meat is wrapped in lavaş (think tortilla), cut into bite-size pieces, drizzled with an oily, tomato sauce, and encircling a dollup of yogurt. Delicious! Expect to spend about 30-40 TL for two people.

AKSARAY
* Krall Döner
This little hole-in-the-wall a bit off the main drag in Aksaray serves their own creation by smothering the common Tavuk Durum (chicken döner wrap) with Iskender sauce. If you are in Aksaray, it’s a must. 5-10TL per person at most.

Zafer ilköğretim Okulu Yanı, Aksaray
* Dunya Döner
We first enjoyed this cafe when we visited Aksaray in 2010. The owner, a retired Navy man, moved back home and opened a restaurant in the best location in town right on the corner of the main square. Great service and great food along with soft-serve ice cream makes this a great stop in Aksaray. Be sure to say hello and tell them that Duke and Christian sent you. Expect to spend 10TL per person.

GÖREME
* Cafe Şafak
Sitting to the southeast of the bus station in Göreme this quaint family run cafe is just what many travelers are wanting- good food and good service with that legendary Turkish hospitality. This is one of the first places I ate when visiting Cappadocia, and I have not forgotten it. Expect to spend around 10-15TL per person. Click here to read more about Cafe Şafak

* Manzara Restaurant
Maybe the best view of any restaurant in Cappadocia. The food is decent. The first time we went I was not so impressed, but the second time we ordered the mushroom chicken, and it was excellent. Both times the view was breathtaking as it overlooks Göreme and the whole valley towards Çavuşin. Be sure to make reservations to ensure a table by the railing. Expect to spend about 20TL per person.

* Mydonose/Coffeedocia/Öze Coffee
If you are looking for a place to sit and have an espresso, frozen cappaccino, chocolate shake, or a simple cup of coffee while catching up on email or chatting with friends or waiting on your bus in Göreme, then these are the 3 key places, and they are all within 100 meters of each other.
Mydonose has both nice atmosphere, especially from the open top floor, and delightful drinks. It is the best in my opinion.
Coffeedocia has the coolest setting with the hammocks and beanbag chairs, but their coffee leaves a bit to be desired.
Öze has decent drinks (when they have ice), but their service is inconsistent to say the least. Personally, I will never go back to this shop. Every time I go the service is horrible. [Note: I am breaking my "No negative" rule, but after repeated visits with nothing but grief, I decided I could not hold back.]
I have been to all three more than once, and I like Mydonose the most.

Mydonose: Telephone- 0384-271-2850, Müze Caddesi #18/1
Öze: Telephone- 0384-271-2219, GSM: 0532-515-0590, Eski Belediye Girişi #1-A
Coffeedocia: Telephone- 0384-271-2349, Avcılar Mah. Turgut Özal Mey.
* Göreme Kale Terrace Restaurant
This family run restaurant is well-situated right at the fork in the road by the mosque in Göreme. We have been a couple of times and enjoyed both the fixed menu three course meal and the individual entrees. The service was great, the staff was friendly, and this place is packed most nights which speaks for itself. Expect to spend 20-30TL per person.

Roma Kalesi Yanı Müze Caddesi
* Evil Eye Restaurant
The only Korean food restaurant in Cappadocia. The Evil Eye sits next to the Elis Hamam and also serves Turkish food. The rooms is elegantly decorated with hand painted flowers and a tasteful mix of Korean and Turkish decor. We enjoyed our meal and found it to be a nice change of pace. Expect to spend 60-70TL for two people. Click here to read more about the Evil Eye Restaurant.

UÇHISAR
* House of Memories
Among the five-star luxury on the hill in Uçhisar one comes upon a broken down cafe/market that begs to be dismissed. But if you do, you are making a big mistake. In good weather sit on the terrace and gaze upon Pigeon Valley while enjoying excellent Turkish cookery. You can expect Bayram Tuğ, the owner, to serenade you with Turkish folk songs as he cooks the food. We had a lovely evening here and know that you will too. Expect to pay around 15-20TL per person.

AVANOS
* Akhal Teke (Outside of town on the river)
This horse ranch provides an atmosphere that is almost as nice as the food (which does not include horse meat). The captivating setting on the river with beautiful horses prancing around, the trees and grass all add to the experience as you will enjoy a variety of the normal Turkish dishes. Expect to spend around 15-20 TL per person.
